Gao-Devi Mandir (Dombivili,Mumbai)

Situated on the hill top of Bhopar, this tekdi temple has scenic views all around with a large flat land to be used as a park.

People from the surrounding communities come during the morning and evening hours, childen come along with their parents and grandparents, people even use the space for morning walks and yoga. the area is sparsely populated with tress and greenery, because of which it looks dry, apart from the monsoon season. as teir are no parks nearby childern use it as a playgrond as well.

Hence the strategy was to have plantation enough for providing shade and greenery in the area and not to have too many trees,

Seating along pathways and under tress, swings for children and some shaded areas under pergolas for gatherings related to temple or for people to do yoga or hold camps.

A very simple design in which landscape in the form of plants, tress, pathways, seatings etc is used to highlight specific features of the site, such as the temple, dharamshala, and mandaps.
