Studio II

The approaches to Planning, Urban design and architecture has been largely resulting into cities threatening the very resources vital for our existence. The world history of urbanization has shown various urban design models bieng tried out in various context.

 

The studio was involved in first analyzing and understanding these models for their success  and faliures. Then it engaged in exploring the urban questions from the studies to the case of an historical city of Lucknow which is moving to become a metro city.  With both these exercises a theoretical position was developed for the urban extention of a city. And the attempt culminated by evolving the urban design paradigm for the future Indian city, which was demonstrated as extention of Lucknow.
