My passion towards understanding the larger forces which shape the physical environment that we live in , drove me to pursue Urban Design. After completing my Masters from CEPT university and in order to be associated with the problems concerning the urban context and people at large, I have worked within all sectors ranging from small to city- scale NGOs like ​MESN and UDRI Mumbai, to government organizations like CIDCO and MNCs dealing with large scale Urban Projects.

Aligned to this, I have constantly been actively involved in educating Urban Design to both Graduate and Post Graduate students of Mumbai University. Recently I have shifted base to Dubai and have joined Manipal Academy of Higher Education as Program Coordinator & Assistant Professor involving myself into full time teaching and research in order to deepen my understanding and knowledge on the subject.

I also run my own practice as the Founder and director at Karasthani and Design Palette Studio- a creative enterprise covering Design, Graphics, Arts and allied fields all under a single creative umbrella. Today the Dezign Palette collaborates on an assortment of projects from the Architectural Practice and consultancy, to product design, editorials and illustrations.

My professional experience covers Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape, Interior, and Graphic design. I have a few publications under my name on vernacular architecture in the Indian context and am also working on a few publications related to Architectural History and Urban Research. 

Being avid traveler and spending my formative years shuttling between cities all across India, I find myself fortunate to have witnessed the various intricacies of both urban and peri-urban life which has sensitized me to believe in an inclusive approach. Adding to that the Urban Design course has equipped me to work across various streams and to be able to understand and engage in a multidisciplinary setup.
